Welcome Pirates!

Hi, everyone! I’m Dr. Katie Atkins, and I’m so excited to be part of the Rockport-Fulton ISD Pirate family! 🏴‍☠️

I’ve been fortunate to spend more than 20 years in education, serving in a variety of instructional and administrative roles in school districts across Texas. Along the way, I’ve learned that while education is always changing, one thing never does: relationships matter.

I absolutely love working with students, families, and teachers. Whether it’s celebrating a student’s success, brainstorming with a teacher, supporting a family, or working with a team to solve a challenge, I love being part of the work that makes a difference for kids.

I’m a big believer that schools should be places where people feel supported, valued, encouraged, and excited to come to learn each day. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside such dedicated educators and to contribute to the amazing work happening across RFISD.

Outside of the day-to-day work of education, I enjoy spending time with my family, laughing often, and finding reasons to celebrate the little wins along the way.

I’m so glad to be a part of this community, and I’m looking forward to a great year together!
