Champs: C- is for Conversation. H- is for help. A- is for activity. M- is for movement. P- is for participation. S- is for success. This is how we will promote classroom management. C is the level at which the conversation is at different times. Level 0 is for independent work. Level 1 is at whole group, small group and table groups. Level 3 is presentation voice. H represents finding help by raising your hand, asking a partner, ask 3 before me the teacher, and use hand signals instead of interrupting learning. M is how we move in the classroom. Stay seated during lesson time, move safely to get supplies, raise your hand for permission, and use signals to get water and restroom breaks. P is participation by listening with your eyes and ears during whole group, partner work, group work, and independent work. Finally, S is using CHAMP to be Successful. The more classroom management skills used the smoother the class will run, and it will be a SUCCESS!
